The Holosun HM3X Micro Magnifier 3X packs the reach of the proven HM3X line into a much smaller unit, built for shooters who like the speed of a red dot but want the option of a magnified view without upsetting the handling of a lightweight carbine. It is a fixed 3x magnifier that sits on the rail behind your dot and flips to the side when you do not need it, so nothing changes about how you run the rifle up close.
The Micro's case for shelf space is its footprint. At 240 g and roughly 70 mm long it gives away very little next to the standard HM3X, which is 278 g and over 100 mm, yet the optical package holds up: 67 mm of eye relief, a 7.1 mm exit pupil and the same 7 degree field of view. The generous eye relief and exit pupil mean you are not hunting for a precise head position to get a full picture, which matters when moving between shooting positions. A dioptre adjustment of plus or minus 3 lets you focus the image to your own eye.
Mounting is more flexible than most magnifiers at this price. Both a standard and a cantilever flip-to-side QD mount come in the box, so you can push the unit forward or back to get eye relief right for your setup, and the included spacer switches it between absolute and lower 1/3 co-witness to line up with however your dot is mounted. Build quality follows the rest of the range: 7075 T6 aluminium with an MAO finish, IP67 sealing, nitrogen-purged internals to stop fogging, a 1,000G rating and an operating range of -30 to 60 degrees C.
A great pick for anyone running a red dot on a gallery rifle or lightweight carbine who wants occasional magnification without carrying the weight of a full-size magnifier.
